Introduction to Leatherworking

CGD Instructor:  Chad Ickert

This workshop covers the basics of leatherworking while creating and designing leather goods, such as wallets, purses, dog collars, teddy bears, etc….. Learn how to hand stitch, cut and manipulate leather with punch holes, apply rivets, grommets, and snaps.  More advanced skill levels can learn how to use a leather sewing machine.  Tips and techniques will be shared for completing your choice of project with a very polished look.

Workshop fee:  $64

Supply kit fee:  $60, payable to the instructor at the beginning of the workshop and will provide all of the materials needed for the project.

About the instructor:  Chad Ickert is a Dallas based commercially successful leather bag and accessory maker, who enjoys the design and construction aspects of the craft.  In addition to teaching workshops, Chad also teaches weekly classes at the Craft Guild and looks forward to sharing his knowledge and passion with his students.
