Glass Studio

Passionate about glass plates, glass vases, glass sculpture, glass everything? Light it up a notch by attending one of our glass art classes! Our glass studio is one fun, creative place to be! From torch work to fusing, beginner to advanced, our expert instructors will teach you how to make enviable art pieces in soft or Boro glass. Love the look of stained glass? Learn to design and connect the perfect pattern or pictures in glass. Experienced and advanced students will find this to be the perfect setting for improving techniques and experimenting with new ideas while discussing challenges and exploring resolutions. Our glass studio is a well-ventilated, well-lit work area, and has eight lampworking stations, with tools, equipment, and kilns. Students new to the studio will be provided information regarding safety precautions, work area set-up, torch set-up, annealing procedures, and kiln temperature settings.  

Glass Fusing
Multiple pieces of glass are joined by a high enough heat to melt them together. Learn traditional and modern techniques to create personal and unique art pieces.  

Lampwork
Create smaller works of art all made on a torch - colorful beads, marbles, wearable pendants in soft glass.

G202b  Glass Fusing  (All Levels)  Morrison  Monday Mar 11 - Apr 29  1:30 pm- 4:30pm  $276.00

  This class will familiarize you with tools and equipment, basic design, firing and polishing techniques, as well as cutting and preparing glass. Various types of glass will be used - Sheet, frit and dichroic, and you will learn creative ways to complete finished, kiln formed pieces. Learn how to design and complete several small fused glass pieces for jewelry or decorative elements in your home.

This class will familiarize you with tools and equipment, basic design, firing and polishing techniques, as well as cutting and preparing glass. Various types of glass will be used - Sheet, frit and dichroic, and you will learn creative ways to complete finished, kiln formed pieces. Learn how to design and complete several small fused glass pieces for jewelry or decorative elements in your home.

G402b  Lampworking Glass  (Adv)  Maley  Wednesday  Mar 13 - May 1  2:00pm-5:00pm  $163.00

Fine tune beadmaking skills in a small class setting.  Fine stringer control, encasing, complex canes, fuming, enamels and powders will be covered. This class is only 4 weeks.
