A203 Rigid Heddle Weaving (All Levels) - Martha Myre

.This will be a class for all levels. Beginning students will be taught all aspects of basic Rigid Heddle weaving including warping, hemstitching, winding a shuttle, selvedge management, etc. Advanced students will be able to choose from a variety of techniques to learn, such as finger manipulation, use of pickup sticks, overshot, warping for different patterns, and warping with 2 heddles. Students may work on a specific project or create a sampler. Some looms will be warped for special techniques that the students can practice on. Instructor will supply yarn for warp and weft for basic weaving. If students want to create a certain project, they will need to supply their own yarn.

This FOUR week class will provide students from complete beginners to intermediate crocheters with a comprehensive crochet experience.Learn and practice foundational stitches (such as, chain, single, double crochet, etc.) while developing the ability to read and follow crochet patterns. Students will explore different techniques and work on individual projects at their own pace with personalzed guidance and support.
Supply fee $20 paid to instructor Includes yarn, crochet, scissors, hooks, needle or students can bring their own supplies.
A401 Multi Harness Class - Miller

Students will weave on a variety of multi harness looms that are 4 or 8 harness table and floor looms. Additional harnesses on a loom allows for a wider variety of woven structures that can be created. Each loom will be pre-warped with a weaving structure. Students will weave on each loom in a round robin format, learning about the variety of structures, different setts for the warp,different treadling variations, and different fibers.

This combined class focuses on beginner sewing and leather crafting concepts and techniques but also welcomes students who have previous experience and want a refresher or who want to hone their basic skills. Students will learn about the tools used in hand and machine sewing in both fabric and leather, fabric and notions (zippers, buttons, closures). We will also cover various techniques including simple pattern making and using store-bought patterns.
