Jewelry II …the adventure continues!
Welcome to the next delicious level of your never-ending jewelry adventure!
This class is designed to set you free to explore the limitless reaches of your creative jewelry expression. By now you have either taken my beginning Jewelry I class or have otherwise mastered the basics and are now ready and eager to move forward. Rather than choosing from the choice of materials (beads, gemstones, findings, etc.) provided in the kit for Jewelry I, you are to bring your own strands of beads, gemstones and other findings for this class. Bring your own tools as well; there will also be some available for class use. Your kit for this class will include upscale findings, an array of focal beads and some other goodies. Also available will be a generous array of strands, pendants and other materials for sale. Be sure to bring any “orphan beads” you may have lying around, for example leftovers from other pieces, anything that you've kept but didn't know what to do with; we’ll find a use! (If you don't have the list of my suggested vendors, reach out and I'll make it available to you.)
Building on your basic knowledge you will learn techniques to expand and incorporate new techniques within the basic structure. There will be a great deal of “show and tell”, utilizing out of the norm materials and you will learn the importance of “rhythm and song” in your piece. Techniques for creating unusual focal pieces and earrings from orphan beads will be demonstrated and a great deal of individual instruction in the creation of your own design will ensue.
