Weave a Scarf - Christine Miller and Martha Myre

In this 2-day workshop students will learn to warp and weave on a Schacht 15” Cricket Rigid Heddle loom. They will weave a cotton, rayon, or acrylic blend scarf that will be woven a maximum of 7” wide and 72” long with 6” fringe on each end. The warps will be hand dyed by the instructors and students will have choices of weft yarn available. Students will warp the loom and begin the weaving process on Sunday, May 5, then will take their looms home to complete the weaving.
Students will return to the Craft Guild on the afternoon of Sunday, June 2 and will be instructed on finishing steps of their scarf; including removing the woven fabric from the loom, tying the fringe and wet finishing the scarf. Plus returning of the looms. Supply fee $35 to be paid to instructor.

Add texture or images to your metal by using a hydraulic press! In this 5-hour workshop you will learn how to use impression dies to create 2-dimensional jewelry pieces. You will learn how to cut shapes using pancake dies. This is great for jewelry production work. You will also learn how to “puff up” your work using silhouette dies. In addition, you can shape metal into a synclastic bracelet. (There will be a one hour break for lunch)

Participants must know how to use a torch and use a jewelers saw.

Your supply fee will cover cost of copper and access to impression dies, pancake dies, silhouette dies and bracelet formers.

Tools: Please bring the following: Jewelers saw and blades, French shears, steel tweezers, permanent marker.
