Each student will be able to complete 4 to 5 tea towels, but you are welcome to bring other pieces to experiment with if you choose as long as they are 100% natural fiber items.

This class is for students new to polymer clay. You will learn how to condition clay using a pasta machine and will gain knowledge about the basic tools and techniques used with this medium. We’ll experiment with single layer surface design using stamps, pigments, fluid chalks, chalk pastels, acrylic paint, foils and metal leaf. What do you want to create? Maybe a pendant? A simple wall hanging? Earrings? A brooch? A button? Beads? The possibilities are endless with this superb medium.

Learn how to make a small hardcover accordion book, but make it even cooler by adding overlapping cutouts for a "tunnel" effect. The workshop includes making the hardcover, cutting out and assembling the inside pages for the book, and putting it all together. Then start on the art and embellishment as time allows.

Create your own abstract art book cover and learn to stitch a multiple-signature junk journal. We will make the inner pages from an assortment of paper types, including recycled and artsy papers. You will learn how to make an art paper cover, create a hard cover, and assemble the journal.
