Vitrograph Murinni Workshop

CGD Instructor: Linda Lubinsky

Murrini  noun (singular: murrina) are colored patterns or images made in a glass cane that are revealed when the cane is cut into thin cross-sections.   In this fun filled, 2 day workshop you will learn how to pull cane from which you will cut murrini. You will then arrange those murrini into a form that will then be fused into a blank. That blank may later be slumped or ‘drop’ out molded into whatever finished piece you would like.   During day 1 (3 hours) you will cut glass circles to fit a pot from which you will pull molten glass to form your canes. On day 2 (4 hours) you pull those canes then cut them into murrini. Then you will place those murrini into a form which will be fused that evening. If you are a current student you may pick up your blank during your next class to finish cold work and slumping in class. If you are not a current student, you may pick up your blank for finishing at home, or choose the optional 3rd day (3 hours) to cold work and finish your piece in our studio.

Workshop Fee:  $175.00

Supply Fee:  $60, payable to the instructor at the beginning of the workshop
